How to Check The ITR Status Easily Without Any Hassle?


After submitting the income tax return, it will get processed by the IT department followed by which refunds (if any) are issued. Now there are two easy ways to check the ITR status, it shows “successfully verified” or that “successfully e verified” after the verification and once the processing part is complete, “ITR processed.” is shown.

During this entire checking procedure, it is checked whether the amount paid by you is the same as the data which they have. A notice under the section of 143(1) will be issued to you in whom it will be written if the return has been accepted or some discrepancy is there.

The Two Ways To Check The ITR Status

Here is how to check the ITR status by two methods easily –

By using the acknowledgment no. without the log in credentials – things you need to do are

-    Go to the e- filing website homepage
-    On the left-hand corner under services tab, see ITR status option
-    The click on that option to open it
-   On the page redirected, fill the PAN card no., ITR acknowledgment no. and a final captcha as instructed
-    Click on the submit button to view the details which will be displayed on the screen.

By using the login credentials

 –  First go on the e-filing website and then log in
-    Go to the dashboard and select the option “view returns/ forms.”
-    Go to that option and choose IT to return and the assessment year just from the drop-down menu that is present there
-    Then fill up everything and click on submit.
-    After submission, the status is to be shown on the screen, and so you’d know whether it has been processed or also verified.
If you have paid more than the tax that you were supposed to, to the government then file the Income-tax Return to claim your refund. The refund initiated will be sent via NEFT or RTGS to their respective accounts. If you need to the check the IT repayment status, then it is also possible by two easy ways.

How To Check A IT Refund Status

The two methods mentioned previously are follows
        Using the website of e-filing– things that you will have to do are
-    Visit the website
-    You must log in the account that you created by entering the details of your PAN no., birth date, password and lastly the captcha
-    Choose the “view forms / returns” option and click on it
-    Select the option “IT returns” present on the menu drop-down. / After this choose the assessment year of which you would like to ensure the refund status of your income tax
-    You acknowledgment no, is going to be a hyperlink, click on that.
-    After clicking you will see the pop up appearing on the screen. This pop up will have an entire timeline of your ITR filing. Including when those were verified, the date when this process was completed and the date on which the refund was issued.
-    Not just that, it will also contain details like the assessment year, the reason for the failure, status, mode of the payment, etc.

        Using the TIN NSDL websites – you can also check the status of the refund on this website ten days after which the refund has been issued.
-    Visit the website https://tin.tin.nsdl.com
-    The entire all the details of your PAN card
-    Choose the year of assessment status of the refund
-    After entering the right captcha code, choose the submit option.
-    According to the status, you will see a message being displayed on this screen so that you get all the information on this page itself.

How To Submit A Refund Re-Issue

1.       Firstly Go to the website for income tax e filing www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in
2.       Then choose the “my account option” and then go to the “service request option.”
3.       Once you have done, that choose “new request” as the request type and the category to be selected is ‘refund reissue.”
4.       On the new screen that soon appears type out the details of your pan card, year of assessment, type of return, communication reference no., acknowledgment no. and your response
5.       Click on the submits and then provides with all the account details as well as address details.
6.       Verify yourself using the EVC procedure or provide them with a digital signature to complete the process.
